Fear Czolgosz’s Spirit

New York Sun Special Service
Rochester, N. Y., Oct. 18.—Rochester spiritualists are not in favor of electrocuting Czolgosz. They claim his spirit wil lreturn [sic] after death and that if this poor, miserable, trembling weakling is hurled into the spirit world in his present condition of mind, who knows how many times he will come back and tempt other weaklings to commit similar crimes? Mrs. Kates, the well-known spiritualist, said:

“Now, don’t misunderstand me. Iam [sic] not an anarchist and have no use for such vermin, but Czolgosz should be imprisoned for life, and that is what we spiritualists are striving to bring about, and by so doing protect other spirits.”
