Mrs McKinley’s Condition
She Bears Up Well—She Has Considerable Property Besides the
Estate
Left by Her Husband.
Canton, Ohio, September 29.—Mrs McKinley had
two drives again to-day. On account of dismal weather and the rain of yesterday
and nearly all night, the outing was confined to the streets in the city. It
was said at the McKinley home to-night that there has been no material change
in her condition and that she continues to bear up remarkably well.
Secretary Cortelyou returned from Cleveland to-night,
where he went yesterday to consult with Col Myron T. Herrick, on certain matters
connected with the estate. He expects to visit Cleveland the latter part of
the week, to see Senator Hanna, who is now in the East. Mr Cortelyou will leave
Canton for Washington on Tuesday, but will be here again in a short time, and
will be in the city at intervals for some time to come. Beside administering
the estate of the President, Mr Cortelyou and Judge Day are to take charge of
the business affairs of Mrs McKinley. She has considerable property herself,
aside from the estate left by her husband.
