Governor O’Dell Doubtful Whether to Call a Special Term of Court.

     Buffalo, N. Y., September 14.—Governor O’Dell, of New York, had a long conference to-day with District Attorney Penney relative to the most expeditious method of trying and convicting the murderer. Mr Penney told the Governor that the case was already prepared for the grand jury and would be presented to that body on Monday or Tuesday of next week. The grand jury would make a presentment to County Attorney Emery, who will assign counsel for the defence. The main question of discussion between the Governor and Mr Penney was to whether or not the Governor would appoint an extraordinary term of the Supreme Court to try the prisoner, instead of allowing the case to go before that department. Mr Penney’s idea was that the Governor should appoint an extraordinary term and select a special Judge. A list of Judges was presented, but, up to quite a late hour, he had not yet decided which course he would pursue.
