McKinley’s Monument Unveiled

     READING, Pa., June 8.—A parade of Grand Army bodies in honor of the unveiling of the monument to President McKinley took place yesterday. The monument cost $10,000 and has been placed in City Park, Chairman Hill of the McKinley memorial committee, read a greeting from President Roosevelt in which he heartily endorses the erection of monuments to Americans who have conferred lasting good to the nation.
     The McKinley ode, written by Col. Thomas C. Zimmerman was sung by the People’s Chorus. Charles Emory Smith of Philadelphia delivered the oration. The monument was accepted by Mayor Gerber.
