TO THE EDITOR OF THE SUNSir: The New York Journal is a rag which has no place in civilized society, no mission except to preach anarchy and beget discontent on the part of the ignorant with their condition in life. Shame or decency has it none, not a vestige. In short, the Journal is a mortal offence to the city of New York, a pestilential offence, a menace to society.
