Hero of Mc’Kinley [sic] Assassination in Cell

Buffalo Detective Has Been Convicted of Receiving Stolen Property.

BUFFALO, N. Y., Feb. 26.—From the hero of the McKinley assassination to a prisoner convicted of receiving stolen property is the drop which former Detective Sergeant Albert Solomon has taken. He was convicted in the Supreme Court yesterday and will be sentenced today. When McKinley was shot at the Pan-American Exposition, Solomon was 15 feet to the right of the President, being one of four local police officers to be detailed to accompany the President while in this city. It was he who grabbed Czolgosz and dragged him from the mob in the Temple of Music and held him, with the assistance of Secret Service Officer Foster, behind the stage until it was safe to remove him to police headquarters.
