Assassin Was Sane and Deserves His Fate, Says Dr. MacDonald, the Alienist
(Special to The World.)
BUFFALO, Sept. 24.—Dr. Charles F.
MacDonald, the insanity expert, of New York, said:
“I came to Buffalo at the invitation of President
Moot, of the Bar Association, who wished that the assassin might be examined.
I waited for the arrival of Judge Titus, and after consultation with him did
examine the murderer.
“My opinion was made known to Judge Titus and
to the District-Attorney, who has asked all the physicians to withhold formal
statements for the present. But it can do no harm now to say that this man was
mentally responsible for his act, sane in every way and deserving of his end.”
