[Cusack, Patrick V.]

Cusack, Patrick V., Buffalo, was born in Ireland, March 17, 1839. He is a son of Martin and Bidelia (Curtin) Cusack, who came to America in 1846 and settled in Albany, N. Y., whence they removed to Buffalo about 1852. Mr. Cusack served a three years’ apprenticeship at the piano finishing trade. In 1861 he enlisted in the 21st N. Y. Vols. as a private, serving for over two years. He returned to Buffalo and on May 7, 1866, was appointed as a detective on the police force and August 1, 1884, was made assistant superintendent of police, which position he still holds. In November, 1868, he was married to Mary, daughter of William Avery Smith, of Buffalo, and they have three sons and two daughters. Mr. Cusack is a member of the C. M. B. A. and the C. B. L.
