The Trial of Czolgosz

THE papers have contained many gratulatory articles on the trial of Czolgosz,—the swiftness and decency of the trial, and the early date of his execution. A London legal contemporary notes the decent delay in bringing him to trial and the interval to elapse before his execution—the earliest, by the way, which could take place under the laws of New York—and contrasts the haste in bringing the murderer of Mr. Perceval to justice, who was executed exactly one week after he had shot his victim. All depends on the angle of vision at which the facts are regarded.
