Editor’s Note Book [excerpt]
Expressions of deep sorrow for the
death of President McKinley and of loving sympathy with his bereaved
wife have been received from many chapters. With these came resolutions
showing deep detestation of the awful crime which has deprived our
nation of its honored chief and a determination to continue more
earnestly than ever the work made ready for our hands—the teaching
of an enlightened patriotism. This is peculiarly the duty of the
Daughters of the American Revolution.
