Saw Czolgosz Sentenced
E. B. Belden, of Racine, circuit judge-elect of this district, was present in the court-room at Buffalo when Leon Czolgosz, the murderer of President McKinley, was sentenced to death. Judge Belden said that the murderer was led into the room shackled to officers. He was indifferent to everything about him and did not appear to take any special interest in things and was the coolest man in the room when his fate was pronounced. Judge Belden says that he is a youthful-looking man and impressed him as being a person who could be easily influenced.
