Hearst newspapers (role in the assassination); the press (impact on Czolgosz); William Randolph Hearst.
Named persons
Leon Czolgosz; William Randolph Hearst; William McKinley.

It is only three years since the Hearst papers printed a series of articles in favor of assassination in this country. The first victim of such preachings was the president of the United States, William McKinley. Czolgosz was figuratively caught with the Hearst doctrine in his pockets. Now that same Hearst wants to be president himself. It will not happen this year nor any other year.
