Mousso Is Insane
A Minneapolis Man Poses as an Accomplice of Czolgosz.
Under the hallucination that he was the person who tied the handkerchief about the hand of the assassin that murdered President McKinley, Ernest Mousso, of Minneapolis, begged protection of the police at Milwaukee, yesterday. Believing him insane, the officers took him in and investigated. It was learned that the young man had been sentenced to the St. Cloud, Minn., reformatory, for grand larceny committed in Minneapolis. From St. Cloud he was transferred to the Fergus Falls hospital for the insane. A short time ago he escaped and was not seen until he appeared at the Milwaukee police station but it was learned that since he left Fergus Falls he had served time in the Bridewell in Chicago. He told to the Milwaukee officer a long story that he has told every one else he had met, about his tying the ’kerchief around Czolgosz’s hand before the assassin entered the temple of music at the exposition where the president was killed. S. A. Whittier, state parole agent of Minnesota, brought the fugitive back to Fergus Falls to-day.
