Those Present at the Death-Bed
AT the time of President McKinley’s death a large number of callers at the
house, knowing that the case was hopeless, had departed. Those who remained
and were admitted to the President’s room were:
Dr. Rixey, Abner McKinley, Mrs. Abner McKinley,
Mrs. Sarah Duncan, Miss Helen McKinley, Miss Mary Barber, Miss Sara Duncan,
Lieutenant James F. McKinley, W. C. Duncan, T. M. Osborn, Colonel Webb C. Hayes,
Comptroller Charles G. Dawes, Colonel W. C. Brown, Secretary Cortelyou, John
Barber, three nurses, and three orderlies.
