Elder Czolgosz Not Involved in a Shooting
Assassin’s Father Exonerated from Rumor of Conspiring to Kill Molitor.
DETROIT, Sept. 20.—Referring to the dispatch sent out from Petoskey, Mich., stating that the father of Leon Czolgosz, slayer of the late President McKinley, was an accessory to the shooting of Henry Molitor, the lumberman of Rogers City, Henry Clothier of Alpena, Mich., who says he was the complaining witness in the Molitor conspiracy case at the time, says in a signed statement to the Free Press that the elder Czolgosz was not implicated in the crime. Furthermore he states that no one of Polish birth was connected with the affair.
